More Congressional Hearings

We do not need congress to spend more money trying to find someone to blame for the oil spill in the Gulf. We already know that they will blame BP. However, what we will not be told is who in the federal government approved the required spill protection plan required to be subimtted by BP and approved by the EPA and the Department of the Interior before drilling began.

The government has the responsibilty to make safe the offshore areas beyond the states jurisdiction (usually three miles from shore).

The other information we will not be given is why our legislators have not updated safety methods in the last 50 years. The legislators have made sure that the department of the Interior collects royalties and leases but have made no effort to insure the states are protected from the feds tomfoolery.

It is always tough to do something that has not been done before.
